Interesting post that popped up in my Facebook feed today, that I’m sure I’m projecting to some degree. However, that’s not the intent – the intent is to understand.
Trump is calling the virus the China virus and repeatedly referring to it during his interviews. This leads to xenophobia and fearing of Chinese people and brainwashing of idiots into thinking China=Virus=Bad.
So the solution is calling the virus COVID-19, which then leads to ‘dismantling’ of the truth. Then those who think they are just simply calling the China virus for what it is get annoyed and they just think “fuckin idiots that get offended at the truth” and distance themselves.
What is the solution here? It is incredibly difficult to get people together if simple misunderstandings like this continue to occur.
It is simply too difficult to educate one person at a time for something like this. Individuals, I think, have to be informed and understood of what’s going on, what happens then, before, and after to get a full picture of reality. I think the best way to go about it is simple campaigns and reforms and people in positions of authority being more responsible. Easier said than done of course but it is definitely possible.
(Perhaps this is part of my role in this world, to tie together the emotionality and the ‘rationality,’ should I say? Not sure if that’s the right term but that’s the way that it should be moved together. Feelings are not necessarily logical in nature but they can be explained with, I don’t know how to say it. Emotions are not something to be scared of. The only thing to fear is fear itself.)
How does one incorporate the truth into a society that’s increasingly sensitive and prone to certain setbacks? Do we just make sure that big tech companies are led by socially conscious people who have some sort of understanding of the world without being too materialistic?
I think the real answer is having a balance and some sort of equilibrium between good and bad activity for the sake of self-morality and world-mortality. Ha ha I’m so clever. But I suppose these types of divides will happen in such a large country as the United States. War is peace; separation is unity; emotion is rationality; 2+2=5 if you believe hard enough, I guess. Only the real ones will feel the truth and the big guns will continue to deliver.
